This issue is a rare UK (pence) variant of the first appearance of Red Sonja. Some sites refer to this issue as the first cameo appearance of Red Sonja, but in this issue, she appears in over 20 panels, fights, and is introduced by her name. The storyline and character in this issue are a loose adaptation of the historical fiction short “The Shadow of the Vulture” written in 1934 by Robert E. Howard.
